Eleanor initially considered herself for a life of accounting, before the world of tourism grabbed her by the brain. After a few years, the love of tourism developed into a passion for all things MICE – the lights, the detail, the strategy, the people, the excitement and the results – and she spent the next five years building internal eventing capabilities and teams within large corporates.
The next phase was a segue of sorts, as she took over the MD reigns of eventing legends, Thundermark, growing the business to R100m, before deciding to reengage her entrepreneurial flair and… start from scratch once again. And MindFuse was born.
As anyone who knows Eleanor (and most do) will tell you, she is powerful and persistent, doesn’t take no for an answer, and doesn’t take any $4!t either. It’s this that makes her so formidable, and so good to work with.
But her foundational beliefs revolve around compassion, and shared value, and how we can all make the world work better, if we work on it together.
Kevin is a multi-faceted student of life’s journey, and worn as many hats as lessons learned. First qualifying as South Africa’s third-ever black podiatrist, he used his skills at Nike, as their in-house foot-guy, before moving to Trubok House, Edcon and then AVI, developing a fervent passion for retail and product as he went.
Next, to increase the rate of personal challenge, he started his LLB (which he has almost completed) and joined Eleanor to buttress the strength of MindFuse. So, he’s our resident podiatry-minded, retail-experienced, detail-focussed, customer relation-loving lawyer guy.
His favourite thing about MindFuse is the team, how they interact, the kinds of ‘incredible results’ they can achieve when they work together.
Sam’s been into events ever since her first taste of them as a promo girl in high school. After finishing university, she landed exactly where she aimed – in the middle of the events industry – and it’s here that she’s been ever since.
Challenge is the soil in which she thrives, and she has been accused of being slightly too competitive – which is an facet that suits (and drives!) the rest of the team, and our clients. She’s creative, she’s charismatic, and she’s brilliant, who makes us just that little bit better.
Sharon thrives on simplifying massive complex logistical challenges and is the most detail-orientated member of MindFuse. A mentee of some of the most brilliant minds in the travel industry, she spent a decade showcasing South Africa as an incentive and conference destination, before deciding to focus her exquisitely particular sights more on the events and conferences themselves.
Her inquisitive mind pairs perfectly with her attention to detail, and ensures nothing is ever missed – no matter how big or complicated a project may be. She values integrity, cooperation and fastidiousness above all else – and these are just a few of the reasons our clients love her!
